When I first heard about banana bread under the name “It’s To Die For” that was gaining popularity in Vancouver, I was intrigued. I wondered what made this banana bread stand out from the rest of the usually so-so fellow loaves out there. Well, I finally tried the famous “It’s To Die For” bread, and I can tell you first hand that it is NOT your typical banana bread!
I had the chance to meet up with the lovely Erin Ireland, Food Reporter, founder of the “It’s To Die For” brand and Mother to the delectable loaf toted by many as the “world’s best banana bread.” I met with Erin at Milano Coffee Roasters in Gastown during one of her regular banana bread samplings. Not one to indulge too often after hearing about the delicious, wholesome, carefully selected ingredients chosen by Erin and seeing the bread in person, I knew I couldn’t miss out on trying a piece of it. When I sat down to chat all things “to die for” (and then some!) with the food connoisseur, I felt as though I was catching up with an old friend. With her friendly demeanor, fun and unique marketing strategies, and the fact that her banana bread is ridiculously yummy, there is no doubt that Erin and her “It’s To Die For” brand will do well.
Ms. Ireland was nice enough to send me home with some banana bread to share. I would suggest running to indulge in a piece, although I must warn… it can be incredibly addictive!
Currently, ITDF BB is available at Commune Cafe, Milano Coffee Roasters (Gastown), Ethical Bean Coffee cafe (Kootenay St. location) and according to Erin soon to be available at various other hot spots around town.

This is by far the tastiest interview I have done for “Mandy’s World.” Enjoy! 🙂
